Logandale church fire

So by now most everyone has heard that the Logandale chapel has burnt down. It's really been an emmotional day, even if it is just a building. So many people in town participated in building the chapel. My dad and other teenagers at the time helped make the brick while others worked on different areas. Everyone had a part, and it was a community effort. Since then their posterity as well as new families to the valley have attended church here, blessed babies, had baptisms, weddings and funerals. It really has been a center in our lives, and it is so sad to see it go. It's was unbelievable to watch it in flames and then to go later and see what was left. Of course it just a building and the most important thing is no one was hurt, and we will build again and make new and wonderful memories once more.

Thanks for posting these pictures. I hope you don't mind I used one on my blog. It's so different to see it like that. You're right about rebuilding. We should be grateful nobody was hurt.

I was so sad when I heard about this! I got onto Vicki's blog and read all about it. I got all teary eyed. I haven't heard too much about what started the fire. I just hope it was an accident and not intentional.

Yes, thanks for posting these pics! The whole thing is just heartbreaking. My dad also helped in the building of the church and, like you, grew up there. Such a tragedy. The idea of re-building gives hope, but it's such a shame that all the history is lost - no matter how old the bldg was.

That is so sad. Good thing no one was hurt. Were you guys going to meet for church now? That is the only church in Logandale?

By the way you got a cute family. Thanks for the message on my blog. It's nice to peak in and see how you are doing it's been a long time. Keep in touch

Oh, Cara, that is so sad!! Did they ever find out what caused the fire? That is quite a loss for the community. I can only imagine if that would happen to our dear sweet old chapel in Blanding. It would be a sad day indeed. But it is a good thing that the chapel can be built again, maybe not exactly the same, but it's still okay.
